Some telecommuting is allowed from the Washington, DC metropolitan area after acclimation to the role and environment. We are currently seeking an Employee Relations Specialist in Chantilly, VA to join our team. In this role you will be a key contributor to a world-class team of Employee Relations specialists within our Human Resources division.Tasks and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:Partners in providing guidance, support and counsel to employees and management on defined employee relations issues, and escalates as appropriateAdvises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issuesFacilitates company approved employee training sessions and guidance meetingsConducts thorough investigations of employee complaints and disputes, documents findings, and recommends disciplinary action and/or appropriate resolutionCompletes basic internal audits of employee relations issues such as employee turnover, hiring, transfer and promotion practices, and exit interviews to identify trends or situations that may require training, counseling, or other actionCollaborates with HR leadership to facilitate activities to positively enhance the GDIT employee experience, and contribute to proactively addressing ER issues before they occurPerforms all assigned duties in compliance with internal policies and external regulations and laws, bringing all compliance issues to the attention of management.2-5 years of related employee relations experience. Skilled in basic HR and employment law principles Experience interacting with senior leaders and employees on employee relations issues Superior written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality regarding employee information Proficiency with Microsoft Powerpoint, Word, Excel, and OutlookIt would be great if you also had:HR experience in a federal contracting environment Superior analytical and problem solving skills Proven planning and organizational skillsFor more than 50 years, General Dynamics Information Technology has served as a trusted provider of information technology, systems engineering, training and professional services to customers across federal, state, and local governments, and in the commercial sector.
