Department Marketing Statement:

The Reporting Analyst will support Human Resources in promoting and implementing WMATA's Workforce Analytics program by providing visibility into HR processes through high-level metrics.  In this role, you will be responsible for creating accurate reports and translating complex data into meaningful and actionable insights for a variety of audiences. You must be proficient in Excel, especially Vlookup and Pivot Tables, in order to design and interpret large data sets. If you have the ability to analyze complex data and summarize your results, as well as experience creating dashboards and presentations, then this position with WMATA's HR Information Management team may be the perfect job for you! 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent certificate required.

Experience

Minimum of two years related work experience (HR Reporting and Data Analytics) with PeopleSoft 9.1 or similar HRIS.

Preferred

Knowledge

Strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques

Skills

Developing insights from data, metrics, and statistical analysis and modeling using advanced tools.

Job Summary/Essential Functions:

The HR Reporting Analyst is responsible for building reports, both operational and analytical, to track the HR workforce data/movement, provide insight into employee data, and highlight trends. Performs trend analysis of data to meet the needs of customers (across HR, Business or Functional Leaders) and to aid in decision making. Acts as a consultant to the organization in understanding the HR data landscape and provide information on where data exists, what limitations there may be, and how to manipulate it in order to turn it into actionable information to inform business outcomes.

Will work with others at all levels in the organization, collaborating with individuals and teams to define and capture ongoing needs, identify relevant key metrics, and determine the most effective way in which to present this information to support business strategies and activities.

The position requires a highly analytical, self-motivated person who can assist HR Business Analysts enhance the capabilities of HCM for our end users.

Production Reporting and Data Set Deliveries: Generate standard, custom, recurring and ad-hoc reports as needed by business. Assists in the development, tracking and analysis of metrics and dashboards in support of period reporting.  Analysis may include quantitative and qualitative, transactional / efficiency and human capital metrics. Ensure reports are comprehensive, accurate, timely, and relevant and reflect the most recent organizational changes. Determine the mix of presentational tools (including dashboards) that will best deploy the information, to include traditional static, dynamic user generated, menu driven, and real time interactive. Confirm accuracy and effectiveness of presentation. Ensure regularly scheduled dataset deliveries to customers are accurate and timely.

 Consulting: Consult with customers at all levels and across the business to elicit how new reporting requirements and output are to be leveraged to ensure the appropriate data is provided within the requested timeframes, escalating when assistance is needed. Gather functional requirements, maintain documentation, and develop project plans and status reports used for managing Analytics projects.  Generate data-driven insights through partnership and collaboration with Human Resource business partners and internal and external functional experts.

 Reporting and Data Governance:  Maintain the Report Catalog and ensure currency and accuracy. Follow Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Control Processes for the creation and documentation of production reports and datasets. Understand the HCM data, assist in updating the data dictionaries as needed. Monitor the integrity of the HCM data through regular audits, troubleshooting irregularities, as well as partner with the HCM Business Support and HR Shared Services team to research, correct discrepancies, and ensure compliance.

 Projects:  Participate in the design and execution of projects related to reporting and data. As assigned, contribute effectively on all key phases: needs assessment and prioritization, project sizing, task execution, customer and partner communication, draft iterations, UAT, and finalization/roll out. Keep the HR Reporting and Analytics Manager and customers informed on progress and include them in key decision making where appropriate.
