POSITION SUMMARY:The Senior Vice President of Government Affairs is the executive responsible for leading the Company Government Affairs team and developing, leading, and executing legislative strategy for the corporation. As the senior-most government affairs professional, the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs serves both as the leader of the Government Affairs Operations as well as the advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors on all matters of legislative consequence. Some travel required. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee and manage a team of lobbyists representing the Civil, Defense, Health and Intelligence GroupsDevelop Company public policy strategies to support and enable the company to execute its long-term strategic goalsPartner closely with Company corporate leadership to understand the impact and significance of potential legislative or regulatory actions on Company current and future businessConnect leadership with key policy, decision, and influence makersSupervise initiatives related to the Company Political Action CommitteeServe as Chairperson of the Government Affairs Committee and Company Political Action Committee BoardBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:The ideal candidate must possess:Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of government affairs experience.Established Washington relationships that will be lead to advocacy on behalf of Company appropriations goalsSignificant experience in advancing initiatives through strategic communications to policymakersSubstantial collaborative skills with a track record of building strong bipartisan relationshipsA proven team player attitude with extensive experience managing, mentoring, and leading teamsA self-motivated, assertive, and self-confident disposition with the ability to act with urgency and an ability to anticipate and respond quickly to business requirementsA high degree of emotional intelligence, displaying candor and integrity at all timesA strong business acumen, strategic thinking ability, and degree of judgmentResourcefulness, creativity, enthusiasm and a results-oriented mindsetAn exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills for effectively interfacing with key policy, decision, and influence makers within the government and Company organizationAn entrepreneurial spirit, enjoys working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environmentStrong organizational skills in order to maintain a high level of productivity, innovation, and priority-settingA willingness to work collaboratively by incorporating diverse perspectives and appropriately managing relationshipsAn ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and concurrently and think through complexity and ambiguity, make thoughtful, integrated, timely and meaningful decisions, and take corresponding actionsExperience managing, maintaining, and executing a budget strategy using PAC funds and assist in fundraising for PAC growthCapitol Hill experience required, specifically with ties to committees or leadershipPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Advanced degree strongly preferredPrevious experience in government contracting preferred
