    TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

    Time in grade:
    Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-07 grade level for consideration for the GS-09 grade level)

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

    GS-09: You must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 level, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized Experience is defined as researching and analyzing information such as laws and regulations that govern Federal nutrition assistance programs or other public assistance programs in order to ensure compliance with program requirements.

    OR

    EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or JD in a related field.Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only graduate level education in excess of 18 semester hours may be combined with experience..

    GS-11: You must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 level, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized Experience is defined as researching and analyzing information such as laws and regulations that govern Federal Nutrition Assistance Programs or other public assistance programs in order to ensure compliance with program requirements.

    EDUCATION:
    Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M in a related field.Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only graduate level education in excess of 36 semester hours may be combined with experience.

    GS-12: You must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 level, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized Experience is defined as researching and analyzing information such as laws and regulations that govern Federal Nutrition Assistance Programs or other public assistance programs in order to ensure compliance with program requirements.

    (Note: There is no education substitution for the GS-12 level.)

    GS-13: You must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 level, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized Experience is defined as researching and analyzing information such as laws and regulations that govern Federal Nutrition Assistance Programs or other public assistance programs in order to ensure compliance with program requirements.(Note: There is no education substitution for the GS-13 level.)

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
