Information Systems Security Officer

Key Role:
Assist with the assessment and authorization (A&A) process under the risk management framework (RMF), as directed by the Defense Security Services Authorization and Assessment Process Manual (DAAPM) for standalone computers and networks. Assist with contamination management in the event of classified data spills and ensure auditing requirements are completed for media control, virus scanning, hardware and software control, and computer security briefings. Act as an advocate for all disciplines within the security program while ensuring that business needs are met. Work with the system administrator to ensure all systems security procedures are followed and audit files are maintained and reviewed in accordance with multiple client requirements. Offer sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions to effectively communicate information to various audiences by using oral and written communications. Interact with internal and external customers or government security officials to perform security duties, address routine information security matters with employees regarding issues, including report preparation, system security access briefings, and other duties as a member of a team reporting to the client. 

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience as an information systems security officer in a security related environment

-Knowledge of the DAAPM process and ODAA Business Management System (OBMS) and Central Access Information Security System (NCAISS) Web sites
-Knowledge of government security directives
-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree or 7+ years of experience as an ISSO in lieu of a bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of NISPOM, DCIDs or ICDs, and JAFAN

-Top Secret clearance
