The OCTO Consulting Team has an opportunity to provide agile software development and maintenance for CODIS, a mission-critical application for the FBI. CODIS is a client server application developed using Microsoft .NET that supports a database repository of DNA profiles from individuals, unsolved crime scene evidence, and missing persons. CODIS software allows local, state, and national laboratories to compare DNA profiles electronically, thereby linking serial crimes to each other and identifying suspects by matching DNA profiles from crime scenes to individuals' profiles. Implement and manage multi-server deployments in a virtual environment Install and maintain database servers running SQL, TFS, SharePoint and TeamCity Set up and manage Windows, IIS, SQL Server, PKI, Active Directory, Hyper-V, and System Center Install and maintain client workstations, including installation and configuration of third party applications Provide technical and Infrastructure support for labs including Active Directory, SQL Server, IIS, Backup Exec, Cisco ASA Firewalls, and multiple models of Dell Servers Maximize network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages Maintain Secure VPN solutions between multiple secure locations using Cisco VPN and OpenVPN SSL VPN Occasional need for off-hours support for system upgrades, patches and maintenance activities AWS administration Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field) 3+ years providing system engineering support US Citizenship is required for consideration, with the ability to obtain a US security clearance, Public Trust Strong System Administration experience Proficiency in scripting languages and shells Experience setting up and maintaining complex Microsoft applications Experience and working knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls/VPNs, SAN technologies Strong attention to detail and solid troubleshooting ability Experience with STIG implementation Desired Skills Knowledge and experience of typical build and release management processes, including continuous integration platforms such as TeamCity Experience in Agile SDLC, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment Previous experience working in a software development shop Knowledge and experience with operational monitoring systems, such as Xymon, Nagios or SCOM.
