What You'll Do As a Senior Application Programmer for a prestigious Federal Client in Washington, DC, you will be part of an Agile development team that is improving the financial application that our client uses for budget forecasting, transaction processing, financial accounting and reporting leveraging multiple technologies including Oracle PL/SQL, Active Reports, Java Web Services, BPEL and BI Publisher. We are helping our client implement new processes and procedures to manage the application, as well as developing software and architecture improvements that improve the functionality available for the user community. The developer will be responsible for creating, enhancing and troubleshooting Reports in both Active Reports and BI Publisher as well as help support the development team in their support of the agency's custom SOA based web applications using the technologies mentioned above, as well as ETL utilities, scripts and SQL stored procedures. The developer will work directly with functional SME's to gather requirements, document requirements, develop and demonstrate iterations of software changes, leading up to the final version of the change that will be included in the official release. Agile development methodologies will be utilized by developers to mock-up new functionality so that users can provide real world feedback after each development sprint until a production ready iteration of the code is ready for deployment. Progress and status will be recorded daily in stand up SCRUM meetings in accordance with Agile SDLC methodologies. What We're Looking For This position requires the ability to obtain a successful Background Investigation per Contract requirements Experience working in a SDLC environment performing key activities such as requirements gathering, testing, software development, training or configuration management 3 to 5 years' experience designing and developing web-based reporting applications using PL/SQL, VB.NET, Data Model and UI experience 1 to 2 years experience developing in Grape City ActiveReports 1 years working in an Agile software development environment What We Would Like to See Experience developing Federal financial management software applications Experience with programming presentation layer for web-based reporting applications like BI Publisher Experience with programming logic layer for .NET web based applications using Oracle middleware, J2EE, JavaBeans, Data Access Objects (DAO) and JDBC is a plus Experience working with data layer and databases using SQL queries, Stored Procedures and database triggers Experience with Oracle Database 11g/12c Experience mentoring junior developers Why TeraThink is a Great Place to Work Benefits : We love coming to work every day.
