Cobb Systems Group is seeking a software development project manager to oversee the application of project management methodology during all phases of the project cycle, with responsibilities that include project design, scope management, cost control, quality and performance reporting. This is a contract position based at our client's site in Rockville, Maryland. Corp-to-corp candidates are welcome to apply. The Software Development Project Manager is the primary focal point for all software development activities of a project and the primary interface to the client or other project sponsor. Leads planning and implementation of projects. May participate in the design and/or testing phases. Facilitates the definition of project missions and goals, and decomposes the project into milestones, events, tasks and subtasks including the resources required to perform all work. Develops project timelines and schedules. Evaluates, identifies, and manages project risks. Monitors and reports on project progress and status, both internally and to the client/project sponsor. Tracks and follows up on action items. Escalates issues as needed. Manages project scope, timeline/schedule and budget and/or resource allocation. Creates the documentation necessary to move the project from implementation to support using appropriate documentation standards. Qualifications: Thorough understanding of project management phases, techniques and tools: BA/BS in a technical field of study or equivalent years of experience 3 years of experience leading software development teams in agile SDLCs 10 years overall professional experience. Prior experience as a software developer and a career that evolved into a project lead. Experience project managing commercial SAAS product releases Experience as a scrum master Experience developing software services that use big data ecologies is preferred Must have a solid understanding of software frameworks and architectures Experience developing AWS aware platforms is preferred Prior experience as a developer/architect is a plus Prior experience in financial services industry experience is a plus - provided by Dice project management, AWS, SOA, Architecture, SCRUM Master, Hadoop, HIVE, Java
