Volunteers may have the opportunity to work on projects in a number of specialty areas such as:
- Regulatory Implementation and Evaluation;
- Intergovernmental Relations, Research, and Outreach, including International Affairs;
- Public Engagement, Communications and Marketing;
- Public Policy and Economic Research;
- Investigation and Enforcement;
- Program Management;
- Economics and Statistics;
- Auditing, Accounting, and Finance;
- Human Resources, Human Capital;
- Legal Work;
- Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and related fields;
- Records Management and Operations;
- Business Strategy;
- Occupational Safety and Health, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Health Science;
- Engineering; or
- Construction, Construction Technology.
Before a student may begin volunteer service, written permission must be obtained from an appropriate official of the educational institution in which the student is enrolled.
Students may work up to 40 hours per week.
To be considered for the Student Volunteer Internship, you must apply via the on-line application. Student must maintain student eligibility and enrollment before and throughout the duration of the internship. (Be actively enrolled at an accredited institution not less than half-time). Graduated students may not volunteer beyond his/her graduation date without proof of future enrollment in an accredited university.
You MUST submit academic transcripts demonstrating that you meet the eligibility requirements. See the 'Qualifications and Evaluations' section of this announcement for more details.
If you do not submit sufficient academic documentation necessary to demonstrate that you meet the eligibility and minimum qualification requirements described in this announcement, your application will be deemed incomplete and you will be ineligible.
