    This position is located in Public and Indian Housing (PIH), Office of Public Housing Investments (OPHI), Community and Supportive Services. The Community and Supportive Services (CSS) team is the lead team at HUD responsible for promoting self-sufficiency among residents of public housing, Section 8 vouchers and other assisted housing. To this end, the CSS Team is responsible for a number of ongoing grant programs, including Family Self Sufficiency (FSS), Resident Opportunity and Self-Sufficiency (ROSS) and Jobs Plus (JP). In addition, the team is responsible for two one-time grants (ROSS) for Education and the Juvenile Reentry Assistance Program (JRAP), and a number of smaller initiatives, including Financial Literacy, Reentry and Health.

    You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

    For the GS-15 you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent. For this position specialized experience is defined as:
    - Overseeing programs in affordable housing communities that are assisted by public agencies or public/private development entities— such as programs and strategies that address economic self-sufficiency for low income residents, job-driven approaches to increase earnings, the advancement of employment outcomes through work readiness, employer linkages, job placement, educational advancement, technology skills, and financial literacy for residents of public housing; AND
    - Advising on an organization's decisions, policy recommendations and positions supporting the organization's mission; AND
    - Coordinating economic mobility efforts with public housing authorities (PHAs), assisted housing owners, public/private nonprofit development entities, or government officials; AND
    - Analyzing problems, developing strategies, and presenting solutions to senior management or high level officials, orally and in writing.


    Time-in-Grade:
    In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
    For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.

    Time After Competitive Appointment:
    Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    - A one year probationary period may be required.
    - A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
    - Must successfully complete a background investigation.
    - Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency

    - Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel.
