Email Marketing Manager
Our client, a major membership organization, seeks an eager, experienced digital marketing team player with a "can do" attitude who enjoys a fast-paced environment to manage email newsletters that are of strategic priority to the organization. This is a long-term consulting position. The Email Marketing Manager will be responsible for the strategic development, execution and optimization of the email newsletters with the goal of growing relevance, impact and revenue. This position will work closely with internal stakeholders and will be a primary contact for external agencies. RESPONSIBILITIES Marketing Strategy * Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan for the email newsletters, focusing on acquisition, engagement/retention and loyalty. * Prepare detailed proposals and marketing plans. * Identify market industry trends and collect consumer insights to inform marketing strategy. * Identify and recommend opportunities for audience targeting and segmentation, including multicultural audiences. * Develop customer journey maps to articulate the intended customer experience. Marketing Campaign Management * Oversee campaign budgets, project utilization rates, and forecasting. * Ongoing creation, development and implementation of weekly/monthly email newsletters to achieve agreed upon objectives for multiple stakeholders within the organization. * Ensure email is aligned with email best practices and Brand voice. * Ongoing optimization of email newsletters through preparation of test plans and execution of multivariate testing. * Partner with sales team to monetize the newsletters through advertising and sponsorships, including execution of ad buys in the newsletters. * Partner with editorial team on content strategy, based on audience insights and performance of what content is/is not working in the newsletters. * Execute sweepstakes/giveaways in the newsletters to surprise and delight subscribers, and foster loyalty. * Work with constituents to implement digital marketing campaigns across web and social, and obtain necessary approvals from stakeholders including legal. * Draft marketing copy as necessary to support marketing campaigns. * Work with product management and IT services to improve email subscription processes and other website improvements to facilitate list growth. Analytics and Reporting * Prepare weekly and monthly marketing dashboards with digital marketing results to share with internal stakeholders. Identify trends and prepare recommendations for cross-channel optimization to grow the newsletter lists and increase engagement. * Prepare quarterly content analyses and other reports as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS * BA/BS in marketing or related field preferred. * Minimum of 5+ years of experience executing email and direct response campaigns in a marketing/advertising agency or corporate marketing department. * Ability to consistently meet program goals and hit performance metrics if not exceed them. * Strong understanding of digital and email communication strategies -- both written and visual, deliverability, and segmentation practices. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Strong analytical and technical skills, including experience using email, website and social media reporting applications. * Excellent project management and Microsoft Office skills, including demonstrated ability to prepare reports in Excel and professional presentations in PowerPoint. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Able to multi-task in a high-paced fluid environment while ensuring deliverables are met within assigned deadlines. * Experience with dynamic templates and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (aka ExactTarget), preferred. * Experience with Facebook Business Manager and Adobe Analytics, preferred. * Experience with a Content Management System, bonus but not required. * This is not a technical or administrative position.
