As a member of the Verso Mill's reliability team, provides electrical engineering support to the operating and maintenance departments. Executes expense and capital projects, through design, implementation and maintenance phases of systems. Ensure compliance with codes, utilization of standard methods for installations and exercise project-engineering skills required for presentation, documentation, installation and budget control. Leads RCFA and other reliability processes that focus on electrical systems throughout the mill. We are currently seeking an Electrical Reliability Engineer for our Luke, MD facility. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Provides electrical support, troubleshooting operational systems. Provide engineering support for maintenance E/I technicians in electrical systems and process control. Provide input to the capital planning and 5-year plan allocation requests. Initiate, prepare and support Project Appropriation Requests, to include initiating environmental & safety reviews. Develop and optimize electrical power distribution equipment reliability programs. Initiate and prepare capital expenditure requests. Review the Contractors Environmental Policies, Procedures, and safety requirements with contractors brought on site. Maintain consistent and accurate electrical documentation for DPM/DRPM through drawing review and checking procedures. Develop innovative solutions for complex electrical systems by analyzing problems and providing electrical engineering support for trouble resolutions following the RCFA process. Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety policies and procedures, including safety training, inspections, accident investigation, factory mutual insurance requirements and housekeeping. Promote the safety and health of all team members. Perform work without committing unsafe acts, maintain a safe and orderly work area, and participate in division safety programs. Participate with and support start-up of assigned projects to obtain smooth operation within the overall project schedule. Provide technical and back up support to the Power and Utilities Manager, focusing on energy. Additional Professional Responsibilities: Keep current with changing technologies, blending existing technology with new technologies for long-term performance and reliability. Develop and maintain effective communications and working relationships with all levels of the organization and with vendors. Coordinate the computer systems of process control network technology. Carry out other responsibilities related to the position as required. Have ability to work within a timeline and conform to a budget when working on projects. Possess excellent communications skills, both written and oral. Have above-average personal computer skills. Have the ability to work in a team-based system. Possess interpersonal relationship skills to provide effective project leadership and management. Work well without direction. Work beyond the normal work schedule as necessary to fulfill position responsibilities. Demonstrated capabilities in knowledge transfer or training experience. Required Knowledge and Experience: Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Engineering project management experience desired. Knowledge of high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage electrical systems, with an emphasis on project engineering knowledge desired. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems, paper machine drive systems, and general principles of automation and computer interfacing is desired.
