Security and Counterintelligence is responsible for the protection of NSA/CSS information, people, and facilities worldwide. In support of this mission, Security personnel oversee the development, installation, and maintenance of physical security systems. Security personnel help maintain integral elements of an overall security theory, posture, and infrastructure designed to efficiently deter, delay, detect and identify threats to NSA people, resources and facilities.ResponsibilitiesNSA OverviewThe professionals at the National Security Agency (NSA) have one common goal: to protect our nation. The mission requires a strong offense and a steadfast defense. The offense collects, processes and disseminates intelligence information derived from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes. The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive classified national security information. Technology Security Analysts detect and mitigate close access technical attacks of intentional Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), or Wireless Security (WISEC), and unintentional (TEMPEST) threats emanating from secure facilities and equipment.Description of PositionAs a Technology Security Analyst, responsibilities include:-Performing TEMPEST field testing to discover vulnerabilities in systems and facilities-Providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to the DoD and Government agencies to ensure that TEMPEST, TSCM, and/or WISEC requirements are applied equally throughout the Intelligence Community (IC)-Performing TEMPEST laboratory / facilities testing to ensure that TEMPEST certification meets the current National TEMPEST requirements-Performing TEMPEST testing of Commercial Off ' The ' Shelf (COTS) equipment to discover the extent of vulnerabilities for countermeasure purposes Modernize TEMPEST related IA tandards, policies and procedures-Performing technical and operational functions in radio frequency (RF) survey, physical (structural, network) evaluations -Performing audits, inspections and investigations in accordance with government regulations and make appropriate recommendations for improvement -Performing research and development on future TEMPEST/TSCM countermeasuresSkillsThe ideal candidate is someone with a desire for continual learning, and strong communication (oral and written), problem-solving, analytic, interpersonal skills who is:-accountable-detail-oriented-adaptable-customer and results-oriented-able to manage multiple tasks with competing timelines and deliverables-able to work effectively (independently and/or within teams) across functional areas in a collaborative environmentFor some positions, a TEMPEST Professional Level I or II certification with at least 10 years of TEMPEST testing and/or TEMPEST manufacturing experience is required.DCIPS DisclaimerThe National Security Agency (NSA) is part of the DoD Intelligence Community Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Entry is with a high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree and no experience, OR successful completion of the Interagency Training Certification (TEMPEST or TSCM) as a military member, DoD contractor, or DoD civilian employee and no experience.Degree in any field is acceptable.Relevant experience must be in signals analysis, physical security, TEMPEST, counterintelligence, electrical/electronics, technical surveillance countermeasures, telecommunications, wireless security, packet analysis, information assurance, construction/facilities, or related.Salary Range: $68,036 - $106,012 (Full Performance)*The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position. Entry is with a high school diploma or GED plus 7 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree and no experience, OR successful completion of the Interagency Training Certification (TEMPEST or TSCM) as a military member, DoD contractor, or DoD civilian employee and 3 years of relevant experience.Degree in any field is acceptable.Relevant experience must be in signals analysis, physical security, TEMPEST, counterintelligence, electrical/electronics, technical surveillance countermeasures, telecommunications, wireless security, packet analysis, information assurance, construction/facilities, or related.Salary Range: $96,970 - $148,967 (Senior)*The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position.
