The Tax Analyst is responsible for assisting the State Tax Manager with all aspects of the state tax compliance function.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:1. State Tax CompliancePrepare state income tax returns, estimates, and extensionsRespond to state tax notices as needed2. Prepare State ASC740 (Income Tax Provision) Calculations on an Annual and Quarterly BasisPrepare state apportionment factor analysis, modifications, and other information to support the quarterly and annual state effective tax ratesPrepare other state specific provision schedules, including NOL and Capital Loss carryover schedules3. Prepare State FIN 48 (Uncertain Tax Position) CalculationsPrepare quarterly calculations4. Account Reconciliations/Cash Paid for Taxes AnalysisAnalyze and reconcile state income tax accounts on a monthly basisResolve any unreconciled differences5. State Tax AuditsComplete information document requests from state tax auditors6. Federal Tax ComplianceComplete various aspects of the federal tax compliance function7. Support Company's Internal Control Process Design and TestingReview state tax procedures and controls to ensure they are working effectivelyAssist with management testing of internal controlsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree - Accounting or related field2 years of experience with large-size accounting firm or Corporate Tax departmentExperience in state corporate taxation Experience with tax accounting under ASC 740 Experience with corporate tax software, preferably OneSource.Expertise in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
