  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field F (Facilities Engineering) Level 2. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting facilities support contracts (e.g. hazardous waste, construction, technical services, and maintenance service requirements) to prepare quality assurance (QA) plans; 2) Conducting inspections to review contractor compliance with performance specifications for quality, timeliness, material, and methods; and 3) Developing inspection reports of facilities support projects to communicate discrepancies to a contractor for correction.

    Applicants may qualify with the following education in lieu of the specialized experience qualification:

    Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree.

    OR

    Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree.

    Possession of a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.

    Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, you may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.

    This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

    This is an obligated position. The former incumbent has return rights to this position under PL 86-585.

    The work is performed indoors and outdoors. You will be exposed to temperature extremes, dust, dirt, poor ventilation and dampness when inspecting grounds, exposed area, and void spaces under buildings.

    The work requires walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing ladders and other awkward positions while inspecting buildings and grounds.

    A forty hour workweek is typical of this position.

    This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
