    Basic Requirements:

    Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes managing a team of technical security professionals; working with organizations to ensure their compliance with IT Security requirements; applying knowledge of security requirements for sensitive systems. Experience with NIST SP 800-37, 800-52, and 800-53. Experience with system and software life cycle practices. Experience working with stakeholders to gather information regarding systems security requirements and control implementation and participate on project teams in the development of IT systems. Experience leading teams in the development of programs directly supporting the mission of the organization.

    Competencies:

    3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
    4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

    • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously by setting priorities, creating and meeting set milestones and coordinating deliverable.
    • Ability to write technical documents, reports; communicate both orally and in writing with customers and staff to meet these needs.
    • Ability to address administrative management tasks such as time and attendance, approving leave, as well as a hiring and disciplinary tasks.
    • Knowledge of Federal legislation, regulation, policies, and practices related to information systems security and digital forensics.
