Job Description

Bring your analytical and marketing skills to work at one of the world's most trusted and respected news sources.  As Email Marketing Analyst, you'll take a data-driven approach to one of the most important channels for reader engagement and subscriber acquisition at The Washington Post.  The goal of the Email team is to increase engagement among and generate revenue from millions of digital readers through news and commercial email products.   In this role, you will interact with virtually every department at The Washington Post, including News, Marketing, Sales, and Technology.

  • Provide compelling audience data to be included in marketing materials and client proposals
  • Generate performance reporting on active and completed advertising campaigns
  • Create and deploy email campaigns to support new product launches, special newsroom features, and marketing efforts
  • Help maintain quality and accuracy of email lists
  • Monitor and report on the delivery of millions of daily email sends
  • Identify any problems with deliverability, spam complaints or unsubscribe
  • Communicate with readers to resolve email-related issues and identify opportunities for operational improvements
  • Work with product team on in-house email tool Carta
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of work experience with data reporting experience
  • A strong quantitative, creative and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines. Execute high-quality work under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to work successfully in a team environment, as well as independently and exercise sound professional judgment.
