Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here.

CG-9:  Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 07 level, or higher, in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is experience performing the following: 1) reviewing and auditing travel authorizations and travel expense claims; 2) documenting audit findings; and 3) providing assistance to individuals in the interpretation of travel regulations.

OR

EDUCATION:

A master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B. or J.D., if related) or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education.

OR

COMBINATION of graduate level education as described above beyond the 1st full year of graduate education, and specialized experience as described above, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.

  • Knowledge of audit principles, practices, and techniques of federal/corporate travel policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of travel regulations and policies used throughout the federal government and private sector.
  • Knowledge of automated systems and applications, for the purpose of auditing vouchers and maintaining statistical and financial data used to prepare various reports and studies.
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial management procedures relating to official travel operations.
  • Knowledge of travel regulations and policies used throughout the federal government and private sector.
  • Ability to study, analyze, research and evaluate travel related material for purposes of determining improvements to the Corporation's travel audits and procedures.
