    • experience in performing forensic economic, quantitative, statistical, or financial analysis on projects evaluating trading activities or trading strategies involving commodities, derivatives, equities and/or debt securities.     GS-12:
    You must possess at least one year of specialized experience at the GS/CT-11 or equivalent. Specialized experience includes such duties as producing economic analysis of derivative markets OR analyzing potential market manipulation or market disruptions through analysis of trading behavior and producing graphical and statistical analysis of large data sets using programming languages and analytical tools, specifically SAS, STATA, MATLAB, VBA, SQL, Java, Python and/or R.

    GS-13:
    You must possess one year of specialized experience at the GS/CT-12 or equivalent. Specialized experience includes such duties as producing economic analysis of derivative markets OR analyzing potential market manipulation or market disruptions through analysis of trading behavior and producing graphical and statistical analysis of large financial data sets using programming languages and tools, specifically SAS, STATA, MATLAB, VBA, SQL, Java, Python and/or R. Developing investigative techniques/tools to evaluate whether trading activity is manipulative, disruptive or otherwise unlawful.

    As a basic requirement, all applicants for professional Economist positions must demonstrate either:

    • A successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree in economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus; OR
    • A combination of education and experience – course equivalent to a major in economics, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

    Relocation. Relocation expenses will not be paid

    CTAP and ICTAP. Candidates will be eligible if it is determined that they have exceeded the minimum qualifications for the position by attaining at least a rating of 85 out of 100.
