The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to do the work of a Pipefitter Work Leader under normal supervision performing such duties as: 1) Install , modify, maintain, troubleshoot and repair industrial or domestic high-temperature water and high-pressure piping systems and equipment; 2) Plan, lay out and install piping systems and equipment from blueprints, sketches, etc.; 3) Works with processing lines that may contain hazardous materials; and 4) Follows all safety requirements, practices, and procedures when working in a hazardous or industrial environment as well as on all work assignments.

Heaviest weights handled are approximately 100 pounds. Most of the time handles apparatus weighting 25 to 50 pounds and carriers these for distances of approximately 25 to 50 feet.
Heavy exertion is required frequently, as in mounting and removing motors form their bases, hanging heavy motor starting equipment and pulling large size conductors and cables in conduit. Kneels, crouches, stoops, works from ladders, straddles floor and roof timbers.
Works outdoors, sometimes in extreme heat or cold. Incumbent is exposed to noise vibration, wood dust, and frequently to dirt, dampness, and occasionally to poor illumination when building or repairing structures. Works frequently at high elevations from ladders and staging. Is exposed to danger from falling timbers, bricks and tools and flying particles such as splinters, broken blades, cutters, pieces of masonry and nails. May be exposed to noxious fumes.
