As a Professional Development Program Intern for the Airports Authority, you will gain real world experience and industry knowledge while building knowledge and skills in your field as you work toward achieving your career goals.

Professional Development Program Intern (Marketing)

Serves in Office of Marketing and Consumer Strategy located at the Headquarters Office in Crystal City (Arlington), VA.

Performs a range of basic professional marketing duties while learning about the Airports Authority. Serves as a Professional Development Program Intern, which is intended to lead to a full performance position following successful completion of the internship. Acquires and improves professional skills while gaining real world experience and knowledge. As knowledge, experience, and skills increase, more complex and varied responsibilities are assigned. Professional Development Program Internships extend for a period of eighteen months. Performs related functions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in developing key marketing content messages focused on targeted stakeholder groups including airline executives, airport customers, and the community in general.

Assists in the collection and analysis of data and comments from the Airports Authority's Customer Survey, focus groups, and third party sources .

Participates in events that support marketing strategies (such as social media influencer events, airline conference booths and sponsorships).

Works with marketing partners to ensure consistency of branding and messaging across channels (partners may include sports teams, major regional events, and contractors).

Works with Airports Authority departments to provide marketing support for their initiatives and to expand brand awareness.

Develops and gives professional presentations.

Works with the Organization Development Department to create an individual development and performance plan. Identifies weaknesses and strengths in education, training, and experience. Participates in quarterly reviews of performance.

Attends training for developmental purposes.

Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of fundamental marketing principles and concepts, such as developing and implementing marketing strategies and programs.

Knowledge of marketing media, such as print, video, radio, digital, and emerging marketing channels.

Ability to perform analyses of data and information and make recommendations.

Ability to speak and write effectively.

Ability to use computer hardware and office suite software.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience using social medial evaluation tools such as Sprout Social, Optify, Hootsuite, Klout, SocialBro, Naymz, Twitter Counter, TweetLevel, BlogLevel, and Radian6.


EDUCATION

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
