Job Description

A national law firm with more than 500 attorneys has an immediate opening for a Senior Billing Specialist located in the Washington, DC office. The individual will be responsible for monthly client billing, eBilling, timely eBilling appeals, accruals, reporting, task code set up, internal write off approvals, and month-end duties as needed. Other responsibilities include:

  • Review Aged accounts and client guidelines to identify billable matters
  • Prepare pre-bills according to client guidelines
  • Review and edit pre-bills according to client guidelines
  • Submit bills according to client guidelines
  • Meet monthly billing deadlines
  • Manage submission of appeals for adjusted invoices
  • Responsible for familiarity with client billing guidelines
  • Accurately maintain billing and tracking spreadsheets (in Excel) with daily updates to actions taken and next steps
  • Review and resolve billing issues
  • Assists with special projects as needed.
Job Requirements
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business
  • Experience with Elite 3E
  • 5 years’ Legal billing experience
  • Advanced Excel
  • Capable of identifying issues, developing creative and effective solutions, and resolving issues
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to organize work flow and use time efficiently
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills are imperative
  • Ability to work well, accurately and efficiently while under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet monthly deadlines
  • Commitment to high standards of excellence
