The Senior Core Analyst will apply expert clinical and technical knowledge of related information systems to the management and communication of data, information and knowledge in clinical practice and administration. Experience implementing and maintaining Cerner Core services in a multi-facility environment Expert knowledge of the various Cerner Core components included but not limited to:
•\tAlias pools and aliases
•\tOrganizations, Locations, Health Plans, Client Billing
•\tEvent Set Hierarchy management, coreeventmangaer.exe as well as event code and event set uploads
•\tCerner security - Position, Application group, Tasks, Preference, Privilege, Relationships Bedrock Security
•\tInbox/Message Center
•\tPowerChart, patient list, provider groups
•\tAdd on the fly provider management and personnel combine
•\tUser access management, chart access, personnel groups, personnel upload
•\tPhysician/Provider daily maintenance, physician aliases
•\tExplorer Menu, Discern Analytics, DA2, Inforview/Business Object reports security
•\tBedrock wizards
•\tOps jobs, DTA's, Code Sets, Code Values.
•\tBackend activities such as cycling servers, caching code sets, running scripts
•\tExperience leading Core application security
•\tExperience supporting the various Cerner applications including PowerChart, FirstNet, SurgiNet from the Core security perspective
•\tAssist with development of standard operating procedures for security
•\tManaging security tasks during domain refresh and downtime
•\tCollaborate in the development and execution of policies and procedures to ensure system security and prevention of unauthorized access to systems and data
•\tManaging test logins in the various domains including Production
•\tExperience in working with technical and application team members as well as end users in the design, configuration, testing and support of Cerner solutions
•\tStrong understanding of Cerner technical architecture, FSI interfacing and RHO
•\tStrong understanding of Cerner data models and the ability to audit
•\tFamiliar with orders, CPOE, clinical documentation, Cerner Registration, Cerner Scheduling, CPA to support the teams that manage these applications
•\tTraining other team members, end users and creating training materials as needed
•\tStrong CCL skill
•\tKnowledge of RRD and Clinical Reporting
•\tStrong troubleshooting skill in resolving Core related issues.
•\tStrong understanding of data interchange between multiple healthcare and business applications
•\tParticipate in testing events and test script development
•\tExperience in go-live support and post go-live assessment
•\tUnderstanding of domain strategy and RDDS
•\tStrong technical writing skills for the development of policies and procedures
•\tStrong understanding of change control process
•\tProject management skills
•\tExperience working directly with clinicians preferred
•\tExperience creating and maintain design documents, design decision matrix, data collection worksheets
•\tAbility to participate in on-call support rotation
•\tParticipate in go-lives and downtimes
•\tAssist with process development and documentation involving multiple departments and teams internally and external,
•\tApplicant must have the ability to be involved with implementations of Cerner systems, providing go-live support, and post go-live support
•\tApplicant must possess great Interpersonal and communication skills
•\tApplicant must be able to work in a team environment
•\tApplicant must be a self-starter
Work Schedule:


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
  • Experience in Cerner Core Management solutions
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, minimum of five years clinical experience, and three years of progressive responsibility in information system administration including leadership and participation in implementation of a major information system.
  • Clinical licensure which may include one of the following : Pharmacist, Lab technologist, Radiology technologist, Respiratory Therapist and Nursing


  • Ability to respond quickly to market changes, and a desire to conceive and carry out innovative changes.
  • Ability to create a work environment that promotes efficiency and productivity, satisfaction, growth and development, and collaboration and teamwork.
  • Strong verbal and written skills in English, including communication skills that promote interpersonal relations and customer service.
  • Participates in Go-Lives, downtimes and support during non-business hours.
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong leadership and organization skills.
  • Must be proficient in managing in a matrix environment and utilizing the expertise of resources who are not direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism in all interactions and activities.
  • Computer proficiency in HIS, Windows, inter/intranet environments, Microsoft Suite applications, CCL and Discern Analytics.
  • Performs the activities that support the advancement of clinical practice with the use of technology
  • Analyzes expected and potential impact of IT on work processes, policies and procedures, coordinates process/workflow redesign efforts to streamline and improve work processes. This includes the identification of software gaps during the implementation of new solutions and/or functionality
  • Provides and manages data that assist in decision support and outcomes management
  • Participates in the education and training of staff
  • Leads in the implementation of informatics solutions and data structures that support the delivery of patient care
  • Maintains IT system and applications functionality and addresses issues promptly
  • Promotes the spiritual care mission
  • Provides leadership in ensuring evidence based workflow and design are used in the evolution of electronic medical record
  • Assists with the measurement of benefits associated with process redesign and the implementation of technology to support patient care.
  • Oversees all AHC changes to the application ensuring clinical best practice is maintained
  • Collaborate with AHC departments to ensure policies and procedures are updated as needed
  • Oversee functional, unit and system testing for their application including the development and/or updating of t e st scripts as needed
  • Coordinate the application specific clinical resources required (super users and end users) for all integration test events.


Description of Working Conditions: Full time position which is onsite at the Main Support Center.
