Our client provides total-service planning and design, custom fabrication, installation and audio-visual /media systems services throughout the United States and abroad. Their Clients include museums, educational institutions, visitor and information centers, science and nature centers, trade shows, theme parks and major expositions. The Proposal Writer coordinates and implements sales and marketing projects that include proposals, requests for qualifications, conference participation, data tracking, company marketing, and advertising. Organizes the creation of proposals using both newly created and existing materials. The Proposal Writer will be familiar with the standard concepts, practices, and procedures contained within the Federal Acquisition Regulations. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks where a certain degree of creativity and judgement is required. Employee must be generally available to work past close of business in order to complete proposals based on established deadlines.Daily Tasks and Responsibilities: Working with Director of Sales and Marketing, develop proposal approaches. Prepare and distribute proposal outlines and update as required. Working with subject matter experts, write, layout, and edit custom proposal documents. Track and manage incoming sub-contractor proposal materials. Coordinate / expedite exchange of information with supporting roles such as estimators or purchasing. Proof read all proposal documents and recommends edit revisions. Manage documents, print, compile, and page check final proposals for submission. Ensure delivery of proposal including hand delivery or late night delivery to FedEx location. Prepare and distribute job orders as projects are won. Review incoming RFPs and prepare an overview briefing of the opportunity for senior management. Maintain Sales Dashboard containing status of current and past proposal efforts. Prepare / update company marketing materials including project portfolios and boilerplate documents. Manage sales / marketing database in Access or ACT. Review daily RFP Leads, FedBizOps, and FedConnect and forward all potential project leads. Creates and updates boilerplate as new projects are completed or as new topics are required. Prepares status reports on marketing efforts including the Sales Dashboard and the companys list of opportunities and their results. Proposal writers will also be deeply involved at a professional level in the sales and marketing functions of the company.Job Requirements: Five years of proposal writing experience. Working knowledge of the FAR and government proposal requirements. Expert level skills in Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Excel, Publisher, Project, and Adobe Acrobat Pro are required. Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop a plus. Experience in the exhibit industry a plus. Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, writing, communications, or related field.
