1. Foundational Learning (Learning Asset Development and Teaching): Ability (or potential) to develop, manage, assess and deliver learning assets for the Life Cycle Logistics career field, ensuring currency, quality, and competency alignment. This includes activities and ability to: propose, write, validate, manage and maintain quality Life Cycle Logistics courseware including post-level III executive-level learning assets; align and integrate life cycle logistics learning assets with other functional communities; manage and maintain case studies to depict realistic DoD sustainment and readiness challenges; develop, align Terminal Learning Objectives (TLOs), Enabling Learning Objectives (ELOs), and assessment rubrics to career field competencies;; conduct research on systems acquisition, life cycle management, product support, and leadership; assess the health of learning assets, as well as guide future curriculum development and maintenance requirements; identify, develop, validate and maintain Life Cycle Logistics support tools to support and enhance learning assets; integrate lessons learned from mission assistance activities into learning assets; communicate (orally and in writing) complex managerial and technical material to students teach and facilitate higher levels of learning (including at executive level) for the defense acquisition workforce; motivate learners to participate actively in the learning process; organize information; , leading diverse, interdisciplinary teams, including successfully planning, budgeting, and executing complex curriculum development projects.
2. Performance Learning (Consulting): Ability to consult with DoD clients at various levels of authority from mid-grade to general officers/SES, across the system life cycle including guiding life cycle logistics, product support and sustainment strategy development, implementation, and execution. This includes responding to defense acquisition workforce queries and support requests, providing consulting/mission assistance related to diagnosis, goal setting, problem solving and decision-making; communicate effectively with large groups, including senior stakeholders and customers across DoD, providing presentations at conferences, symposia, and team meetings, strategy sessions, and other related public forums; planning and successfully executing acquisition, product support/sustainment and life cycle management-related mission assistance for DoD acquisition and sustainment organizations; providing technical guidance and assistance on complex product support matters across the spectrum of the Life Cycle Logistics competencies; and leveraging subject matter expertise and leadership skills to support senior DoD and DAU stakeholders on a range of life cycle logistics related technical policy and process issues and initiatives.
3. Workflow Learning Asset Management: Ability to develop and manage on-line/web-based workflow learning assets, tools, and resources. This ability must include the continuous assessment, currency, and quality of these learning assets. Describe any experience with development, delivery, currency, and maintenance of computer-based workflow learning assets including communities-of-practice, functional community workspaces, timely responses to student ask-a-professor inquiries, ACQuipedia articles, job support tools, guidebooks, videos, podcasts, websites, webinars, and curriculum support media.
Serves as a Learning Director and Professor of Life Cycle Logistics Management with experience in the Department of Defense (DoD) or a non-DoD agency. Applies knowledge, experience, and technical skills to teach and facilitate higher levels of learning for the Department of Defense acquisition workforce. This requires an in-depth knowledge of planning, strategy development, assessment and execution of DoD life cycle logistics, product support, and sustainment management, technical data management, supply chain and maintenance management, and supportability analyses for DoD weapons systems during the acquisition and operational phases of a system's life cycle.

- You must have achieved DAWIA Level III certification in Life Cycle Logistics or alternatively, you must have the ability to obtain the required certification for the position within 24 months of appointment.
- If selected for this position, you are subject to the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
- You will be required to become a member of the Acquisition Corps. DoD instruction 5000.58R specifies qualification standards for Corps membership (waiver of some of these standards is in the limited possible circumstances described in the instruction).
- You will be required to join the DAU Faculty Plan as established by Title 10 of the US Code. This position is in the excepted service (non-career). Candidates currently in the competitive service will be required to sign a statement indicating that they are leaving the competitive services voluntarily to accept an appointment in the excepted service.
- Initial appointment is made for a period of four years, conditional upon satisfactory completion of a DAU probationary period of one year. Every year, as part of an annual review, consideration is given to extending the appointment; thus, service at DAU can be extended indefinitely.

Pay Band A: Minimum Prerequisites
You must possess a Bachelor's Degree and have at least 4 years of experience in the appropriate functional area in either government or industry.
Pay Band B: Minimum Prerequisites
You must possess a Master's Degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and at least 6 years of experience in the appropriate functional area in either a government or industry position.
Pay Band C: Minimum Prerequisites
You must possess a Master's Degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and at least 8 years of experience in the appropriate functional area in either a government or industry position.
