The Program Coordinator's role is to coordinate and provide administrative, project, logistical, and production support for the Digital Learning department within the Kennedy Center's Education Division.

The Coordinator's key functions are to provide support to workflow, production, and publishing systems and staff, contributing to the development of new and renewed print and digital content, as well as optimizing existing products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

25% General Administration - Provides comprehensive administrative support to Digital Learning staff, including general office management, reporting to the Director of Digital Learning. Organizes and maintains files for all programs.

20% Finance and Business Relationships - Manages relationships with writing, editing, illustration, animation, video, and audio production contractors; prepares and processes purchase orders, payment requests, and other financial materials; maintains general finance administration and records with guidance from the Assistant Manager for Audience Enrichment.

15% Event Management - Assumes primary responsibility for scheduling of media production meetings and jobs, securing shoot venues, catering, transportation, and lodging services - liaises with production staff and talent including providing on-site production assistance with guidance from the Manager of Digital Education Resources.

10% Content Production - Engages in basic content and media production (e.g., copyediting, audio/visual capture, video editing).

10% Website Maintenance - Prepares and publishes web content (e.g., image selection, permissions clearance, HTML coding, data entry); maintains documentation of all content updates and communicates revisions to staff.

5% Staffing - Assists in the hiring, training, and supervision of the Digital Learning interns. Coordinates and supervises volunteers and their assignments. Coordinator provides support for artists and volunteers at all production events; ensures the smooth execution of the event and troubleshoots issues as they arise.

5% Documentation - Tracks and reports digital resource metrics and analytics against key performance indicators and priorities as defined by team.

5% Social Media and Communication - Engages in Kennedy Center Education social media implementation; responds to user feedback (e.g., social channels, general Digital Learning contact email).

5% Performance Guide Support - Handles collateral production scheduling and coordination (media; performance guide distribution/routing). Maintains documentation of inventory and organizes storage accordingly.


College degree (or equivalent experience) in either the performing arts, arts education, education, media development, or online learning is preferred.

Minimum 2 years knowledge and experience in an educational, interactive media production, nonprofit arts, or other professional setting.

Must be able to accurately estimate the time and effort needed to perform a task and be able to meet deadlines with excellent problem-identification and reporting skills.

Must demonstrate capacity to multitask and prioritize heavy workload under team and time pressures. Must be extremely organized and be capable of tracking issues on multiple projects simultaneously.

Must have a track record of strong professional, technical, and creative writing ability; must be detail-oriented and have meticulous proofreading skills.

Minimum Skills and/or Knowledge Required

Enthusiasm for Digital Learning's mission is essential. The incumbent will have deep, daily contact with staff and a variety of creative and education agencies and consultants as part of a highly creative, mission-driven team.

Self-starter and multi-tasker with high level of initiative and the flexibility to handle multiple, rapidly shifting priorities and pressures. Ability to organize, prioritize and reprioritize concurrent, complex projects with multiple stakeholders, and respond to project demands, including changes of direction, with creativity and enthusiasm.

Positive attitude and high capacity to work as part of a team as well as independently; ability to present ideas and designs to a group, with understanding of the creative process in a collaborative environment.

Extensive familiarity with, and appreciation of multiplatform multimedia, delivered via the Internet and other platforms. Direct experience with graphic layout, image and video editing applications such as Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred.
