Release Manager/Test Class Developer, CRM - University Information Services
The Release Manager/Test Class Developer supports the CRM team by ensuring that the production Salesforce environment is secure and that the development team has a clear pathway for testing and release updates, fixes and enhancements to the Salesforce platform. S/he is expected to follow best practices for implementing and managing release processes for code through development, test, and production environments. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Working with the Salesforce DX best practices for deployment between scratch, sandbox and production environments
- Document solutions developers needs are met and that code deployment is handled responsibly
- Manage development of test and implementation plans, change management plans and participate in development of training materials
- Write test classes for code that ensures the User Acceptance Testing environment is continuously passing overall code coverage checks
- Write assert-based test classes to make sure data, not just code coverage, risks are evaluated
- Support the development operations structure and audit needs of the CRM team.
- Keep informed of new technologies or application methodologies through publications, membership in professional organizations and contact with other IT organizations and institutions.
- Conduct other tasks as requested.
Requirements
- One year of professional experience with Salesforce development and release management, including change sets and repository-based deployments
- One year of professional experience with Salesforce test class development; familiarity with continuous integration strategies is ideal
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Understanding of higher education needs and environment
- Strong project/personnel management and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in a team and or leading in a team environment
- Professional development experience with APEX
- Experience with release management products such as Git
- Database management, ability to learn new software, research and writing skills, comprehension of project management methodology
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming
- Ability to manage application development projects where stakeholders represent functional offices, as well as technology deployment projects where stakeholders are internal IT staff
- Ability to work collaboratively within the UIS and across the University
- Solid ability to gather, organize and analyze data in the completion of assignments
- Must possess a commitment to service and quality, and the ability to integrate these concepts into the School culture
