The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business is seeking a well-qualified Coordinator to join the team in the Office of the Associate Dean Office Masters Programs and Executive Programs. One of 13 schools and colleges located on the University of Maryland, College Park campus, the Smith School is a recognized leader in management research and education for the global economy. The school is consistently ranked among the world’s top business schools by leading business publications such as Business Week, Financial Times, Economist and the Wall Street Journal.

The primary responsibility of the Coordinator will be to ensure that the Associate Dean of Master’s Programs office operations consistently function in an efficient and effective manner. This will involve being the main point of contact for all of the Associate Dean’s scheduling needs, as well as providing information management support, and representing the Associate Dean to internal and external stakeholders. The Coordinator will also support the research, planning, organizing and managing of logistics for departmental projects and events and provide management to the front office for the Office of Executive Programs.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required with one to three years of experience in high level administrative capacity to include planning, organizing, prioritizing and executing assignments without instruction. Strong interpersonal, teamwork, customer service, communication and stress tolerance skills. Ability to effectively interact with a variety of individuals at all levels inside and outside of the Smith School (e.g., Faculty, Students, Staff, Top Management, Campus/Corporate Officials, Alumni, Vendors, etc.). Ability to collaborate with others as needed to achieve desired results. Ability to handle pressure/challenging situations. High level of self-direction and proactive orientation; willingness to speak up and offer novel ideas for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of The Office of Executive Program operations. Takes the initiative to find information as needed to solve problems. A self-starter with a strong learning orientation and flexibility. Ability and willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed. Ability to focus on tasks in an environment that is surrounded by ongoing activity. Practices student, faculty, and staff confidentiality at all times.
