SENIOR SERVICES ASSISTANT MANAGER
The City of Bowie is seeking applicants for the positions of Senior Services Assistant Manager. Working independently, with Direction from the Senior Center Manager, assists in overseeing and coordinating operations of the Senior Center within the Community Services Department including promoting activities and programs of the Center; implementation of program goals and objectives; preparing a variety of statistical reports; and performing a variety of administrative and professional tasks in support of assigned area of responsibility.
About the Bowie Senior Services Center
The Senior Center is a nationally accredited, 29,000 square foot, multipurpose facility that provides opportunities for social, educational, creative, recreational, and physical enhancement programs for citizens age 55 and older. Information and Referral Services, Transportation Services, and a congregate lunch program are also available. At our Center, friendships are made, new interests are discovered, skills are sharpened, talents are enjoyed, meals are shared, and special occasions are celebrated.
The mission of the Bowie Senior Center is to serve, support, and enhance the lives of senior adults 55 years and older by providing programs and services that promote active, independent and healthy lifestyles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Recreation, Education, Psychology, Geriatrics or related field.
- Two years professional experience working with senior adults, or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of increasingly responsible leadership/management experience.
