Mission Computer Alternative (MCA) Engineer to support PMA209 in establishing the next generation cockpit avionics mission computer.
Essential Job Functions:
Advise the government customer on engineering solutions for the next generation mission computer following NAVAIR Systems Engineering and Technical Review (SETR) processes.
Make recommendations to the government for setting technical hardware and software requirements that will meet the functional requirements specified by fleet users through various platform program offices.
Review vendor provided technical design documents and analyze to determine if the specified requirements will be satisfied by the proposed design.
Review vendor provided technical deliveries and analyze test reports to determine if requirements have been met.
Provide systems engineering analysis to support the NAVAIR SETR process.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
A Bachelors Degree plus 6 years of expereince, a Masters Degree plus 4 years of experience or a PhD plus 2 years of experience is required.
An active Secret security clearance is required.
Familiarity with NAVAIR SETR processes.
Strong systems engineering and analysis skills.
Experience with the integration of software and logical systems as well as related hardware requirements.
Working knowledge of the challenges related to functional and non-functional aspects of systems integration.
Understand how to develop and manage component-based software products.
Basic understanding of modular assurance and accreditation strategies and small-footprint change impact.
Abilty to identify and express the system requirements for Hardware, Software and Logical architectures.
Understand the benefits and application of interfaces based upon services and management of services.
Basic understanding of how to manage scalability of the system architecture through service specification and implementation.
A working knowledge of the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) Technical Standard would be an advantage.
Understand the application and benefits of a model-based approach to software development.
Understand how to develop software products that are flexible and extensible by design.
Understand the application and benefits of MBSE to system architecture design and considerations when using MBSE for military avionics systems.
