Job Summary:

Westat is seeking a senior biostatistician with strong epidemiologic skills and interest. The position is located in Durham, North Carolina.

Job responsibilities:

· Client interaction is a major job responsibility. Work directly with more than a dozen senior scientists in the government to define analytic goals and objectives, develop analytic datasets, execute analyses, and develop manuscripts and presentations.· Provide analytic support for more than a dozen epidemiologic studies. · Work with the client and senior Westat epidemiologists and biostatisticians to design, create derived variables and analytic datasets, and implement data analyses from a variety of epidemiologic study designs including case-control, longitudinal cohort, and case-cohort studies. · Analytic methods to include logistic regression, longitudinal analysis, mixed effects models, survival analysis, and other statistical methods including sampling, splines and methods to assess effects of multiple simultaneous exposures. 

Basic Qualifications: 

· A Ph.D. degree in Biostatistics or Statistics with 8 years experience is required.
Candidates must have solid understanding of epidemiologic methods, as well as strong quantitative, interpersonal, and project management skills and experience applying these skills. Experience with multiple statistical programs is essential, including SAS and R.
