We Are Hiring Title: Registered Nurse - RN Supervisor (House Supervisor) City, State: Baltimore,MD Location: St Agnes Hospital-Baltimore MD Department: Nursing Administration 001 Additional Job Details: This particular position is part time, two 8 hour shifts (11P-7:30A) per week. Weekend, holiday and other harder to staff shifts would be required. What You Will Do Job Summary: Registered Nurse - RN Supervisor, Nursing Supervisor, supervises daily operations, workflow and resources of assigned area. Responsibilities: Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and staffing levels. Provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to departmental clinicians. Assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Coordinates patient care with other members of the healthcare team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Assists with addressing issues related to educational initiatives, evidence based care, conflict resolution, cost containment issues, implementation of new services/systems, and performance measures. Other duties as assigned. Assesses patient care requirements on each unit, by making rounds in the Emergency Department (ED), PACU, and all other areas of the hospital (according to departmental need/activity) while keeping up to date, with assigning beds within the goal of a 10-minute window for all ED admissions. Develops and implements staffing plan for shift based on patient acuity, patient census and available staff. Assists staff to efficiently utilize staffing resources to meet patient care requirements and other professional responsibilities. Facilitates patient through-put by assigning beds for all ED admissions, internal unit transfers, direct admissions, and transfers from outside facilities to hospital. Provides for immediate follow-up, documentation and communication of incidents to appropriate manager and director. Responds to emergency situations (METs, OBERT, Code Blue) and assists as necessary. Responds to STEMI requests, both ED and inpatient, and follows procedure in responding to STEMI page, obtaining patient information, opening the Cath Lab and Cath Lab Recovery Room (on off shifts) in order to expedite communication and flow through-out the process, to assist in providing excellent patient outcomes. Qualifications REQUIRED: Certified BLS Provider specializing in Health Service Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Or military CPR-First Aid training. REQUIRED: Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. REQUIRED: Bachelor of Science of Nursing (BSN) at date of hire REQUIRED:Two years of experience in nursing leadership position at date of hire. PREFERRED: Two years of experience in a nursing supervisor / house supervisor in a hospital setting.
