AceInfo is currently seeking a Deputy Enterprise Operations Manager to support our federal project, in Bowie, MD. Project Overview: The Deputy Enterprise Operations Manager (DEOM) will assist in the planning, direction and coordination of the Census Bureau s IT Enterprise Operations and management. The position is responsible for improving performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies. Responsibilities: The DEOM reports to the Enterprise Operations Manager, ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. Primary duties involve managing the Enterprise Operations Center (EOC), Enterprise Monitoring and Operations teams. Additionally, the EDOM validates all operational lifecycles, including participating in risk management and preparation of infrastructure technical reviews Participates in systems engineering activities as stakeholder which include one or more of the following: Concept of Operations formulation, requirements definition, system analysis and design, validation and verification, system integration and, system performance analysis The DEOM will help enhance better management reporting, communications management, business processes and organizational planning. To that effect, manage and increase the technical and management effectiveness and efficiency of the operations teams, through improvements to coordination and communication between internal and external business areas The EDOM plays a significant role in long-term planning, including building initiatives geared towards accomplishing operational excellence The DEOM coordinates multi-discipline support activities with multiple organizations. Provides innovative solutions to complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Interacts daily with managers, and technical staff in all project specialties. Interactions with client counterparts on project matters within area of responsibility Must work well with general guidance, generate competent technical input for operations type documentation, be detailed and security oriented. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to deal with multiple contractors and government organization. Must have worked in large enterprise class type environments, be in line with industry best practices, think outside the box, and be able to make recommendations to improve overall governance and support continuous improvement Qualifications: Management Position Requirements: 12 full-time years of progressive experience into an enterprise setting Demonstrated progressive experience in the managing of technical operations teams in the areas of compute, storage, virtualization, backup & recovery, security remediation and cloud services Extensive infrastructure and application support experience Experience working with complex systems through the full systems development life cycle Familiarity and practical application of advanced principles of ITIL/ITSM Excellent oral and written communication skills required Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission Perform quality controls and monitor production SLA s, Metrics, and KPI s Ability to support executive management incident debriefs and root cause analysis reports Familiar with source and artifact control, configuration and knowledge management Establish and implement frameworks, processes and operating procedures Communicate and present solution concepts and designs to various levels of management and stakeholders having varying levels of technical expertise Be a customer advocate by consistently meeting, exceeding expectations and incorporating customer service into all aspects of work Technical Position Requirements: Experience managing Microsoft & Linux systems on medium/large (2500+ systems) scale Experience using NOC tools such as SolarWinds, AppDynamics, VMware vRealize and/or Splunk Knowledge of NIST Information Security Guidelines and FISMA Compliance standards Experience automating or orchestrating the provisioning of new services Experience with Amazon Web Services GovCloud (AWS) (EC2, S3, Snaps, Cloudwatch, etc.) Knowledge of Citrix VDI, Oracle RDBMS/RDS, Weblogic, Tomcat, IIS, etc. Knowledge of configuration and deployment tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.) Relevant knowledge of current and emerging technologies Proficient in supporting recoverability and continuity of business operations Enterprise helpdesk/service desk experience Soft Skills and Abilities: Organizational Skills: Can plan and prioritize work, both their own and that of project team. Follows tasks to their logical conclusion and makes sure that everything has been done to the right standard. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, elected officials, executive leadership, senior management, users, vendors and subcontractor personnel Problem Solving: Natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics. Ability to analyze problems and determine root cause, generating alternatives, evaluating and selecting alternatives and implementing solutions Results oriented : Able to drive things forward regardless of personal interest in the task Education and Experience: 12+ years of experience with a Bachelors in Computer Science or related field In lieu of degree, a combination of education and 18 years of demonstrated hands on experience ITIL v3 certification and/or formal training in ITIL/ITSM preferred, along with equivalent work experience Any Microsoft, Red Hat or Amazon certifications are a plus Any SEIM, MoM, System & Network Management certifications highly encouraged Comfortable in a fast pace work environment Security Requirements: Candidate must be a US Citizen and able to pass a Public Trust Assessment Place of Performance: Bowie Computer Center Bowie, MD Must be available for on-call support as required
