Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Dulles, VA. Under direction of a senior member of the Mechanical Analysis team, the candidate will perform design analysis and test of one or more of the spacecraft systems of subsystems. Will also support preliminary or advanced concepts developed by senior staff and product leads. Roles and Responsibilities: Perform static and dynamic structure analyses Review requirements for materials, structure systems & subsystems Select appropriate technical information and data from applicable products Determine the technical principles involved Identify the design path forward and compute the engineering characteristics consistent with the specifications, design needs and requirements of the space application Release results as technical documents after review by the senior members of the team Develop innovative solutions and elaborate on design concepts Evaluate completed design with supervisor and other technical groups and make modifications necessary to achieve the most ideal design Develop and coordinate the conduct of test programs required to evaluate design work Basic Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: 2 year experience with a Bachelor's Degree (BS) ora Master's Degree Active Top Secret Clearance Experience with performing structural engineering tasks associated with analysis, design, and testing of structures. Experience with Mechanical Analysis and tools such as NX FEMAP/NASTRAN; ABAQUS; HYPERMESH or equivalent spacecraft structure analysis tools. Experience working as a member of an IT team, collaborating effectively with an integrated team of customers, vendors, users, and co-workers. Ability to work independently, on a large team, and on concurrent tasks Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: Active TS/SCI Experience in stress analysis, structure dynamics and testing.
