Position Description: Work as part of a small visualization team that is in the process of developing new and re-designing existing web capabilities for important mission priorities on a fast-paced project. This is a good project for engineers that have some experience with user interface technologies and would like to strengthen them. There is flexibility regarding technologies and languages used on the project. Required Skills: This project requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, since there are stakeholders from a variety of organizations. Development on this project is fast-paced and requires experience with a variety of technologies, including: Ruby on Rails JavaScript jQuery XML Java Relational databases Microsoft SharePoint Visualization software engineers on this project should have at least 4 years of general engineering experience, with at least 3 years of experience more focused within software engineering. A Bachelors degree in a technical field is preferred, but in place of a Bachelors degree, 4 additional years of experience in the field is acceptable. Desired Skills: There is potential to migrate some existing capabilities that are written in ColdFusion to more modern technologies. We have identified an area of opportunity where we can introduce better software development processes, so if you have strong experience in this area, it is highly desired.
