Are you ready to join Northrop Grumman? If so, we areseeking a Principal Electrical Engineer (Power Subsystems) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Dulles, VA. Youwill perform analysis, design, or test of one or more complex designs, which require use of ingenuity and creativity independently. Based on generally defined problems, study design concepts and criteria to ascertain the engineering principles involved. He/she will plan, prepare, and complete the design. Evaluate completed design with more senior engineers and other technical groups and make modifications necessary to achieve a design that satisfies requirements. Develop, coordinate, and conduct the test programs required to evaluate the design. May also oversee component and/or subsystem supplier design, analysis, manufacture, and test. Job Duties: Based on broadly defined problems, studies basic design concepts and criteria for complex components for electrical systems and subassemblies and applies more advanced engineering principles to develop new designs for small projects. Determine engineering tasks required for project planning and execution Analyze project requirements and develop detailed planning, conceptual designs. Supports and leads the testing and/or evaluation/validation of one or more electrical components of a system or subsystem analytical model or actual system implementation. Applies principles of uncertainty quantification to owned program, product, and planned activity. Performs analysis, design, or test of one or more complex designs, components, or functional systems. Creates and manages changes to electrical component or system or analytical models under self-direction using established guidelines. Lead / coordinate electrical avionics team as required Perform CAM activities as required. Managing and reporting EVMS as required by program. Develops cost estimates for proposals and programs as required. Develops and manages schedule and resources as required by the program / project. Analyze and interprets requirements at the space vehicle level and flows down requirements to lower level specifications. Evaluates and coordinates electrical system designs to ensure system-level requirements are met. Provides technical coordination of vendors and suppliers. Circuit card manufactures Battery subcontract Solar Array subcontracts Solar Array Drive Mechanism subcontract Solar Array Drive electronics subcontract Basic Qualifications: This position may hire as a level 3 or level 4 based on the qualifications below: 1. Level 3: 5 Years of direct experiencewith a Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with a Masters; 0 Years with a PhD. Or Level 4:9 Years of direct experience with a Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with a Masters; 4 Years with aPhD. 2. Expert understanding and application of electrical engineering technical standards. 3. Experience preparing and presenting electrical materials during Requirements and Design Reviews and other formal program reviews. 4. Experience working as a member of a team, collaborating effectively with an integrated team of customers, vendors, users, and co-workers. 5. Ability to work independently, on a large team, and on concurrent tasks. 6. Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills. 7. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 8.
