Position Summary ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION: Protocol Officers develop, manage, and advise on protocol policies, procedures, and program matters in the Agency. They interact with Agency, Intelligence Community, and other external colleagues to enhance protocol program continuity and support engagement activities. They plan and execute domestic and foreign visits, tours, ceremonies, and special events. Additional Position Info ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position will be under the organizational structure of Corporate Operations, Protocol Branch. Corporate Operations provides agency-level support to the NGA Senior Leadership Team consisting of the Director, Deputy Director, Executive Director, Associate Director of Operations, Associate Director for Enterprise, Associate Director for Capabilities, Associate Director for Support, the West Executive and the Senior Enlisted Advisor. Corporate Operations facilitates and governs corporate processes, establishes executive correspondence standards, manages enterprise tasking processes, improves content decision materials, provides protocol services, and conducts business functions to enable superior support for NGA leadership to meet the mission. The Protocol Branch coordinates and organizes official events hosted by the NGA Senior Leadership Team to extend formal customs and courtesies to visiting dignitaries, both foreign and domestic. Corporate Operations is seeking a high performing, proactive, detail-oriented Protocol Officer to join the team. A Protocol Officer is responsible for proactively planning and executing a myriad of functions that include but are not limited to: protocol support to distinguished visitors ranging from very senior government and military officers to civilians and foreign equivalents. They plan and execute visits foreign dignitaries visits to include associated gift exchanges. They plan all aspects of special ceremonies to include scheduling events, determining audiovisual requirements, obtaining decorations, awards, gathering biographies and guest information, preparing agendas and setting up locations. The position requires a professional with proven skills to enable success in a fast paced, executive level office. The work is extremely dynamic, very visible and diverse in scope. Mandatory Qualification Reqs MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Demonstrated experience assisting with administrative policies and practices as it relates to protocol matters. 2. Demonstrated experience planning, organizing, presenting, and evaluating a wide variety of protocol events. 4. Demonstrated knowledge of military protocol and etiquette. Highly Desired Skills QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Experience serving in the Intelligence Community as a protocol officer. 2. Experience using DoD Official Representation Funds (ORF) in accordance with established policies and procedures. 3. Non-executive NGA employees are assigned to five distinct pay bands based on the type and scope of work performed. The employee's base salary is established within their assigned pay band based on their unique qualifications. A performance pay process is conducted each year to determine a potential base pay salary increase and/or bonus. An employee's annual performance evaluation is a key factor in the performance pay process. Additional Job Requirements You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information. All employees are subject to a periodic examination on a random basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Refusal to take the examination may result in denial of access to Top Secret information, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs. Employees with SCI access and who are under NGA cognizance are required to submit a Security Financial Disclosure Report, SF-714, on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility.
