Technology Sales and Product Support Engineer
This is a non-career, term job.
Serves in the Technology Business Development and Sales (TBDS) Department of the Office of Technology in the Headquarters Office; however, may also work at another Airports Authority facility (such as Washington Dulles International Airport).
Collaborates with the TBDS Department to understand technical product capabilities and serve as a primary technical member for marketing, sales, and post-sale support processes and associated tasks. Performs related functions.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as the internal and external technical expert in providing pre-sale, sale, and post-sale support processes and activities for Airports Authority technology products, solutions and services.
Develops and tailors the product demo environment specific to each prospect/client, with assistance from product team and in coordination with other units within the TBDS Department.
Designs product demos to highlight the products' capabilities and technical advantages that will help support and accomplish prospective and existing clients' expected business outcomes and their strategic results.
Prepares product demos and technical sales execution run and key highlight punch list scripts.
Develops, updates and maintains technical product documentation such as Deployment Guides; develops, compiles, and maintains well-organized and easily understood FAQs to answer the questions of the client/prospect's senior executive leadership, IT department and others.
Executes the technical part of Airports Authority's products, solutions and services demonstration to senior prospect/client leadership and key decision makers.
Drives project planning sessions with client stakeholders to identify their needs and outline technical requirements and solutions based on the Airports Authority's product rollout plan.
Conducts site survey and manages product implementation and rollout for clients.
Develops and executes training plans for clients, stakeholders, and product administrators.
Assists with pre-sales solicitation (such as RFI, RFP, RFQ) technical responses and compiles questions for follow up and clarifications.
Provides technical programming and software engineering product support during pre-sales, sale and post-sales.
Delivers timely post-sales product support including professional and quality customer support to resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
Supports the TBDS Department in growing the sales of other Airports Authority technology products and capabilities.
Communicates any product feedback, business needs, and requirements from the client to the product team and the TBDS Department.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Six years of progressively responsible experience in technical marketing, sales, and product support activities for software products.
Included in the six years of experience must be three years of hands-on technical software implementation support, including establishing demo environments and technology assets for pre-sales, sales and post-sales product support.
Ability to quickly assess and sense prospect/client environmental dynamics, expectations, and needs and effectively fulfill them by up-selling and cross selling a portfolio of technology products, solutions and services.
Ability to perform technical competitor landscape and prospect/client analysis to plan and prepare technical sales and product support efforts.
Knowledge of cybersecurity and the ability to apply it to regional and global expectations pertaining to technology products, solutions and services.
Ability to provide product support and issue resolution during client's software update cycle.
Knowledge of and basic skill in mobile applications development and related technologies, including the Angular application platform (version 6 and above), Node.js (version 9 and above), and SOA (REST/SOAP) experience.
Skill in establishing technical training courses, plan delivery approaches, and manage to fulfill customer training lifecycle.
Ability to communicate complex technical elements in a simplified fashion, speak with passion and clarity to prospects/clients' senior business executives and their technology department decision makers.
Ability to write effective technology products, solutions, and services descriptions that are palatable, attractive and compelling to drive purchases.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Master's Degree in Business Administration.
One or more certifications, such as Certified Inside Sales Professional (CISP), Certified Professional Sales Person (CPSP), Certified Sales Leadership Professional (CSLP), Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM), Certified Marketing Management Professional (CMMP) or Certified Product Marketing Manager (CPMM).
Prior experience in performing tech sales and product support activities to airports, airlines or other transportation market segments.
Experience with Swift (version 4) development, Ionic framework and Android development.
EDUCATION
A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management Information Systems, or related field.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED
Must have an active and valid passport and the ability to secure visas and other travel documents.
NECESSARY SPECIAL FACTORS
May travel up to 90% of the time, both within the U.S. and to other countries. May need to travel to other countries on short notice.
Ability to lift and carry demonstration equipment and sales related collaterals and assets.
Work is typically reviewed in progress and upon completion for quantity, quality, timeliness, teamwork, customer service, and other factors.
