As a Summer Intern, you will improve your skills and gains professional experience while performing meaningful work support the Airports Authority's operations.

Summer Intern (Information Technology - Service Desk)

This is a non-career, temporary position (10 weeks).

Serves in the Office of Technology located at Washington Dulles International Airport in Sterling, VA.

Assists Department staff with a variety of assigned activities in support of their operations. May take on more complex or varied responsibilities as knowledge and experience increase, as appropriate. Performs related functions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides technical support to Service Desk clients regarding software, hardware, application, and/or telecommunications problems.

Receives service requests, documents information about the problem into ticket tracking systems, and performs remote troubleshooting.

Notifies the user when the incident has been resolved or request fulfilled.

Performs general administrative functions in support of the Office.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skill in using common office equipment, computers and Microsoft Office Suite Software (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point), and the ability to learn and use other systems/software.

Ability to perform general analyses of data and information and make recommendations.

Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of and then apply learned processes, procedures, practices, systems, standards and guides to t he assigned position/unit/team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Major in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or Management Information Systems.

Certification in A+, ITIL v3 Foundations, or as a Microsoft Office Specialist.

EDUCATION

Currently enrolled in a college or university.

Pursuing a major related to the internship.
