- Lead deployed HW products support through: Analyzing unit failures and developing corrective actions Debugging/Testing all parts of analog & digital designs Evaluating production partners (local and offshore), including quality of work assessments - Manage vendor issues. - Verify compliance with quality standards Evaluating end-of-life and component change notifications and sourcing alternate components - Maintaining configuration management of HW items - Creation of clear and concise HW specifications, design documentation, HW-related detailed design documentation, BOMs and Parts Lists, verification tests and reports Review and evaluate supplier/vendor documentation and provided suggested courses of action to upper management for all HW-related components - Work closely with CAD designer, board fab & assembly vendors Implement modifications to automated test equipment and test software. - Assist new product development through participation in: Design and develop analog & digital hardware. - Switching power supply design Implementing analog & digital designs using schematic capture software tool (Orcad) which include generating net lists, parts lists and printed circuit board layout. - Design layout, component placement and trace routing. Developing guidelines for board layout Design and develop analog & digital hardware OR reviewing the designs/products from vendors Creation of clear and concise HW specifications, design documentation, HW-related detailed design documentation, BOMs and Parts Lists, verification tests and reports - Review and evaluate supplier/vendor documentation and provided suggested courses of action to upper management for all HW-related components - Work closely with CAD designer, board fab & assembly vendors - Process and release schematics, drawings and documentation thru configuration management. - Design and develop analog & digital hardware. -Switching power supply design - Implementing analog & digital designs using schematic capture software tool (Orcad) which include generating net lists, parts lists and printed circuit board layout. -Active participant in the design layout phase including component placement and trace routing. Be able to write guidelines for board layout. - Extensive hands on experience for debugging and testing all parts of analog & digital design - Work closely with CAD designer, board fab & assembly vendors - Guide Mechanical design for enclosures - Create clear and concise HW design documentation, specified or derived requirements from customer-level documentation, schematics, detailed design, BOMs and Parts Lists, verification test plans and reports. - Review and evaluate supplier/vendor documentation and provided suggested courses of action to upper management for all HW-related components - Familiar with Compliance standards (MIL, SAE, FCC, EN). - Evaluate unit failures and implement corrective actions. - Evaluate component product change notifications and source alternate components. - Implement modifications to automated test equipment and test software. - Process and release schematics, drawings and documentation thru configuration management. - Manage vendor issues. - Verify compliance with quality standards. Experience: - Minimum 6 years Experience in digital board development using CPLD, clocks, switches. - Experience with Xilinx/Altera CPLD tools Experience implementing serial communications interfaces (such as CAN, USB, I2C, SPI, RS232 & RS485) - Experience implementing audio amplifier circuit and analog board design - Experience implementing switching power supply design of DC/DC converters - Experience with schematic capture software ORCAD Awareness of signal integrity and EMI/EMC issues - Experience with thermal design and heat sinks Experience using scope, logic analyzer Experience with Labview Experience in a production support role, electronics manufacturing or automated test design - Strong verbal and written communication skills
