Director of Communications and Development We are in search of an experienced Director of Communications and Development who will serve as a key leadership team member in operationalizing the vision of the CEO in support of the mission of Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School (CRIPCS). The Director will coordinate a comprehensive and innovative mission advancement strategy with a focus on nurturing existing and forging new relationships to build the School's visibility, impact, and growth. The Director will also work closely with the CEO to implement a plan for maintaining existing and developing new external partnerships and alliances. Responsibilities: *Responsible for using the mission of the organization and vision of the CEO to contribute ideas and insights into identified aspects of the organization and assume a proactive role in identifying areas in which CRIPCS can lead, drive change, and deliver positive outcomes *Develops and executes integrated departmental plans to support CRIPCS objectives by providing strategic oversight of the Communications and Development teams. *Supports Communications with the development and implementation of an integrated strategic communications plan to advance CRIPCS's brand identity; broaden awareness of its programs and priorities; increase the visibility of its programs across key stakeholder audiences; and create a communications strategy that will allow CRIPCS to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, external audiences, including the media and key influencers *Responsible for working with Leadership Team and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them *Advises, partners and supports the CEO and Manager of Development on fundraising initiatives *Works closely with the CEO to identify and contribute to the building of relationships with key leaders and organizations in strategically targeted communities, with a primary emphasis on providing adult education that prepares a diverse immigrant population for success *Other related duties as assigned Qualifications and Requirements: *A deep commitment to CRIPCS's core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners *An undergraduate degree with a minimum of 6 years of related experience and at least 3 years in a management position with demonstrated success in communications, development, or community relations and/or the appropriate combination of education and experience *A successful track record of connecting with and garnering resources with an understanding of the dynamics of fundraising within the voluntary sector. Knowledge and experience with cause-related fundraising; philanthropic grant-making; and federal government, private sector, venture, and other funding sources *Experience in planning and executing community relations strategies, campaigns, and successful public relations efforts *Excellent communication skills, both written and oral to include public speaking and presenting to all levels of constituents; ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders and build long-term relationships *Ability to work independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will proactively and productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority internally and externally *Ability to construct, articulate, and implement annual strategic development plans. *Proficiency in all relevant Microsoft programs; experience with Little Green Light, Raiser's Edge, and /or other complementary tools *Excellent cultural competency and a track record of helping organizations to effectively engage diverse populations *Experience working with and/or an understanding of issues related to adult education and the challenges faced by a diverse immigrant population *An outcomes-focused approach to work and the resilience that enables one to proceed in spite of the inevitable setbacks and obstacles *Demonstrated success in the leadership and management of effective teams.
