We are currently seeking someone for the role of Director of Engineering to lead a development organization. The Director of Engineering will drive the success of the team by leveraging best practices in software development methodologies such as AgileScrum, DevOps, and automated testing. This role will require the ability to manage multiple technical teams, work closely with clients, manage team performance and the on-going training of their teams. The Director of Engineering will be involved in the hiring and firing process as well as the coordination of employee evaluations. Experience in software delivery is a mustndash this individual must understand the operational execution of and challenges around how enterprise back-ends, web and mobile applications are built, enhanced and modernized. The Engineering Director welcomes complex challenges and relishes the opportunity to consult with clients to solve problems and transform their approach to development and maintenance. Responsible for ensuring timely, cost-effective, quality execution and delivery of software consulting projects utilizing best practices and strong communication and leadership skills. Establish collaborative relationships with customers for project success and customer satisfaction. Manage cross-functional teams of software engineering, infrastructure, product and analyst teams includes assigning work, monitoring results and problem identification and resolution. Qualifications 15+ years of experience in managing and leading software development teams. Experience in software delivery is required 5 years leading technology organizations of 75 or more developers with At least 25 or more direct reports. MBA or Certificate in Business Administration desirable. Strong technical background and is current with todayrsquos frameworks and methodologies. Proven experience with and understanding of application development and software delivery, including the SDLC, agile software development and DevOps. Deep understanding and experience in the broader change management process, leveraging standardized methods and procedures for the efficient and prompt handling of change. Possesses a solid understanding of software requirements management, user experience design, application programming and system design. Ability to review and evaluate vendors without getting hands-on with their code. Comprehensive understanding of project management and software development methodologies ie AgileScrum methodology Strong leadership - capable of managing and influencing a team of analysts, software engineers and subject matter experts Resultsndashoriented, articulate, persuasive, and able to manage and grow customer relationships and build confidence with customers
