Come join a growing and dynamic team of claims adjusters who work on the determination and settlement of Workers Compensation claims for clients in the state of Maryland. This role will learn the Workers' Compensation claims process by assisting and supporting the claims staff in the set-up and administration of Workers' Compensation claims, case management, and other tasks depending on the specific needs of the customers. It will participate in investigations and fact gathering on new claims, and approve payments based on pre-determined authority levels. This role will also handle the adjudication of a small caseload of Lost Time and Medical Only Workers Compensation claims.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:Assist in Investigations and fact gathering including recorded interviewsAdjust Medical Only claims and limited 'close end' Lost Time claimsSets up new claimsProcess mail, handle files, and input notes/diary entries in the claims systemProcess payments, as neededProcess form letters, state forms and reportsAssist claims specialists with telephone calls including provider, claimant and customer callsRequires regular and consistent attendance.Comply with all safety rules and regulations during work hours in conjunction with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program ('IIPP').Additional duties as required.
