POSITION SUMMARY: Mitchell Heating and Air Conditioning is in need of a Master HVAC Technician. The successful candidate will work under minimum supervision, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot building Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems and equipment. Duties and Responsibilities: Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs, as required, building HVAC/R equipment consistent with manufacturer's guidelines, operating design parameters, and accepted practices to optimize energy use. Installs HVAC/R units, including electronic, electrical, and mechanical components and Installs HVAC/R ductwork including flexible tubing and sheet metal Installs, maintains, and repairs computerized electronic, pneumatic, and direct digital control (DOC) devices related to HVAC/R Maintains and makes operating repairs on electrical equipment and appliances, on oil and gas equipment, on refrigerators I freezers and ice makers, and on other refrigeration equipment. Operates and keeps in good working order a variety of equipment including hand tools, mobile electronic devices, measuring/diagnostic/testing meters and instruments. Reads and interprets complex blueprints, sketches, schematics, and wiring Performs brazing, silver and lead soldering, pipefitting, welding and fabrication as required. Performs other duties as assigned within the normal scope of the department's responsibilities. Qualifications: A minimum of HS diploma or equivalent and current documentation indicating current successful completion of formal training classes or programs and be able to exhibit acceptable life experiences in HVAC/R Work Possess EPA Universal/R410A A minimum of 5 years of service in the trade. Must have the ability to research information, from various sources, to facilitate repairs HVAC/R equipment e. technical manuals, as built prints, equipment supply distributors, and internet websites, etc. Must have the ability to recover, recycle, and reclaim refrigerants adhering to HVAC/R industry standards, specifications, and Must have the ability to perform preventative maintenance on all HVAC/R equipment using work order system, visual inspection, verbal or written instruction etc. Must have the ability to properly lubricate, repair, replace, and align both direct and indirect mechanical drive components, for all HVAC/R Must have the ability to verify and diagnose proper operation of chilled/heating water hydronic generation equipment such as Centrifugal, Screw, Scroll, and Reciprocating Chillers, Gas and Oil fired boilers. Must be capable of troubleshooting equipment control panels both locally and through interfaced communication, with building automation systems. Must have the ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and sequence of operations to diagnose proper operation of campus HVAC/R Must have the physical ability to climb ladders, to bend, reach, crawl, and lift up to 60 lbs.; the ability to work in enclosed spaces. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Must possess current ANSI /OSHA compliant training card to operate aerial lift, bucket truck, fork lift or Must have OSHA certification and ability to operate aerial lift, bucket truck and fork lift. Must have the ability to erect and work on scaffolding as per OSHA standards. Must have an excellent safety record.
