Role: Accounting Analyst; McLean, VA Position Summary: The accounting analyst will support Senior Analysts and Managers in successful delivery of financial results, software solutions, and consulting services with a focus on loan portfolios. Primary tasks include executing SS&C Primatics' proprietary EVOLV software platform, creating and reviewing analytical reports, reconciling journal entries, and assisting clients with complex data analysis. The accounting analyst will have interaction with key client stakeholders, including financial controllers and CFOs. In addition to general knowledge of accounting principles, the ideal candidate will have a background in analyzing large data sets and a desire to learn and utilize new technologies on the forefront of the FinTech industry. Essential Responsibilities: Perform key validations and produce monthly/quarterly reporting for the accounting of loan portfolios within and related to the EVOLV software platform. Review data and results for accuracy and soundness. Research outliers in terms of what is driving the abnormality and quantify the overall financial statement impact. Effectively communicate status, results, and analysis to internal team members as well as external client stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Identify potential process improvements and develop appropriate recommendations. Assist with EVOLV software implementations. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of accounting principles with a general understanding of banking/loans preferred. Desire to learn technology and systems that support financial reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel (eg pivot table, vlookup, financial formulas) Familiarity with SQL is ideal but not required. Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Self-motivated with the ability independently prioritize multiple tasks.
