PURPOSE: Vice President Capital Management: Management of the Interstate Capital Expenditure Program FF&E and OS&E projects including: budgeting, financial reporting, information systems, project management, sourcing, electronic procurement applications and support staff including supervising the Director of Purchasing and an OS&E Manager. The position must have experience in managing multiple projects and a detailed knowledge of hotel renovation work from the planning through to completion. Reports to the SVP, Purchasing ORGANIZATIONAL SCOPE. The position must has experience in managing the Capital expenditure program and multiple FF&E & OS&E projects. A detailed knowledge of procurement , project management installation of FF&E and OS&E for new construction and hotel renovations and conversions from planning through to completion ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manage the Interstate Capital Expenditure Program including: budgeting, and the facilitating the procurement. Prepare, monitor, and recommend for Owner's approval a budget for the procurement and Installation of FF&E and OS&E new build and renovation work. Assist Owner's identifying and retention of the Architect, Interior Designer and any other Consultants required for the Project. Develop budgets for options and attend meetings with the Brand, as appropriate, to assist with PIP negotiation Prepare, monitor, and update a Project Schedule during the progress of the design Consult with Owner to provide, communicate and interpret standards for all phases of design, including mechanical and electrical systems, life safety requirements and major mechanical and electrical components. Assist in obtaining any existing specifications, equipment schedules, diagrams, and drawings for Telecommunications Systems, Hotel Systems, Audio/Visual Systems and any other hotel systems (including cable distribution and power and space requirements for all equipment) for incorporation into the Contract Documents. Set up a weekly reporting system so that regular project updates are made available for discussion with Owner and Operations. Working with Interstate's Finance department setting up the CEP process for invoicing and payments to all relevant parties to the CEP. As appropriate, attend on-site meetings to review the items mentioned in 1.10 above. Hold regular meetings on-site or via phone or Webinars with the PM firm, to discuss progress, budget, schedule, change orders, hotel issues etc. Communicate the progress of each CEP project to Interstate's management and should develop a format to enable this review process to take place in a standard format. Coordinate and obtain approvals and sign-offs of Franchisor, (where appropriate), for all aspects of the Project scope. On completion of the project prepare the final cost accounting of the CEP and report to Interstate. Knowledge and Skills: Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field and relevant experience are typically required for this position. Industry certifications may be beneficial Experience: Min. 7 years of experience as a Project Management, Procurement FF&E and OS&E and related construction experience. Skills and Abilities: Moderate experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access database, Microsoft Project Knowledge of electronic procurement systems Organizational and time management skills. Computer skills and the ability to prioritize work assignments under minimal direction.
