    TheGS-14 salary range starts at $114,590.00 per year.

    If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.  

    To qualify, you must possess all of the following:

    1. Successful completion of a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association and possession of at least the initial professional law degree (J.D.); and
    2. Bar Membership: You must be an active member of the bar; in good standing of a State, a Territory of the United States, District of Columbia or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico ; and
    3. Experience: Applicant must have at least 4 years of relevant legal experience commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position, with an emphasis on real property law and real estate transactions.

    You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

    Applicants will be rated according to qualifications, general experience, specialized experience, demonstrated ability and willingness to meet requirements of position, and demonstrated interest in the practice area.  Eligible candidates are evaluated on their resume to access their overall possession of the competencies/knowledges, skills, and ablilities listed below.  

    1. Knowledge of legal concepts and technical skills in the area of real property law, contracting, and negotiation technique's including skill at advocating favorable terms and conditions in real estate documents.
    2. Skill applying the law of real property, including skill as an attorney with preference for specialized experience/familiarity with drafting, negotiating, and handling real estate transactions such as easements, licenses, purchase and sale agreements, real property exchanges, purchase options, and rights of first refusal.
    3. Skill in the examination of public records of title evidence, securing releases of mortgages or other outstanding claims, and securing disclaimers;

      3a. Skill in applying provision of legal advice an assistance for the negotiation and resolution of problems involving boundary line disputes, and the relocation of public roads and highways, public utilities, and railroads. 
    4. Skill in conducting necessary research and preparation of attorney reports and opinions, drafting closing documents, and conducting closings.

      4a. Skill in negotiating and drafting legal documents for acquisitions, sale, and leasing of commercial property, development of commercial properties, legal review of due diligence, and closing commercial real estate tranactions.
    5. Skill in applying legal theories to factual issues, including skill in conducting legal research.
    6. Knowledge of various laws, regulations, Executive Orders and OMB Circulars which affect real property activities.
