    This position may be filled as a Temporary Appointment, initial appointment is not to exceed (NTE) 1 year. This appointment may be extended at management's discretion.

    A trial period may be required. 

    This position is ELIGIBLE for telework; additional criteria will be required (e.g., supervisory approval).

    This is a NON-BARGAINING unit position.

    Relocation expenses will not be paid.

    Specialized Experience: For the GG-14, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GG-13 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Experience for this position includes leading contracts/projects involving contractors installing, configuring, customizing and maintaining technical architecture; establishing goals, determining resource needs, assigning work and evaluating performance; conducting research and implementing new, innovative middleware software products; designing, implementing and administering complex, large-scale middleware environments; developing, reengineering or tuning efficient data retrieval techniques to enhance performance; using ORACLE languages and tools; documenting technical controls for security certification and accreditation; collaborating with customers to establish and document requirements needed to create an efficient application design; developing data standards, policies and procedures and communicating complex and technical program information in person and in writing to a variety of audiences.

    Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate

    GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

    1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
    2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
    3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
    4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

    Education cannot be substituted at this grade level.
