We are currently seeking an energetic, high performing, and detailed oriented individual who is focused on providing the highest level of service to our members. The Senior Consumer Loan Officer position will be based in Rockville, MD. The role of the Senior Consumer Loan Officer is to uncover the needs of our members and help them through the loan process. This requires a solid understanding of our loan products, an ability to think critically, and the willingness to go the extra mile to assist our members.
As a Senior Consumer Loan officer, you will use your sound loan underwriting skills to analyze credit reports, assess the credit worthiness of potential borrowers, and assist members in making major purchases. As part of a robust Lending team, you will oversee and facilitate funding of approved indirect loans through participating dealers.
We are a close-knit team with collaborative relationships with each other and our business partners. We have 225 employees, and the Senior Consumer Loan Officer plays an important role in helping members achieve their financial goals and dreams.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED), Bachelor's or Associate degree preferred. Minimum of six years of experience as an underwriter in the lending department of a credit union or financial institution. Experience in loan interviewing required. Knowledge of consumer loan policy, credit granting criteria, interest rates and how they are computed and required documentation for each loan type. Intermediate mathematical skills involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc. required. Professional and well-developed interpersonal skills are essential. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Professional. Ability to function in a financial institution branch environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: fax, copier, telephone, etc.
