Overview Alban CAT, the Caterpillar dealer for the mid-Atlantic Region is accepting applications for an EPG Field Technician IV for our Elkridge branch. Responsibilities The EPG Technician IV is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing UPS and switchgear systems and related engine failures at customer sites. Troubleshoot operational failures of UPS and switchgear equipment or industrial engines. Determine corrective action through the inspection of failed parts. Order replacement parts and services in a manner that promotes efficiency and effectiveness. Install and commission paralleling switchgears, generators and UPS and start up. Perform repairs to UPS and switchgears and FLIR testing as required. Safely drive a service vehicle. Clearly and concisely document all work and repairs completed in a timely manner. Maintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment. Demonstrate the ability to learn and apply new knowledge. Perform various other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must have experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing UPS and switchgear issues. Must have experience performing FLIR testing, installing and commissioning paralleling, switchgear, generators and UPS, and Start Up. Must have a valid state driver's license, a good driving record and be available for after-hours emergency service requests from customers 24/7/365. Must be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be well organized and have the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service. Must be able to work with limited supervision, be willing to travel and work hours as required by job and customer demand.
